I have found that simply standing in the mornings increases my productivity at least in the morning.
When I sit I always make a big effort to put my phone away. I waste an inordinate amount of time sitting and scrolling my phone.
I have found having a stand up midday increases my sleepiness when I go to bed.
I am no means spartan I have a sit down and work session as well just without my phone.
Usually when I start my Monday it is very hard to be able to get in the wake up early and go to work zone. I have to remember to bring everything to work, what issues will pop up this work week, what colleagues I need to talk to etc.
When I have my morning stand and mid day stand from 11:00 am to 3-4 pm I feel so tired and grateful to be sitting down I fall right to sleep.
I looked online and I believe people can get swollen legs and varicose veins from too much blood flow if they stand too often. I’m not sure though did we really sit that much in the past? Usually I sit when I am on the PC or on the couch watching tv two modern innovations.
This is a strange hack but I do believe it works.
